Helping you make your ability to connect and communicate your most valuable asset.

We teach people how to connect, communicate, and create understanding using tried and true storytelling and presentation techniques, not tricks, that we have honed over decades of experience working with audiences of every size.

We believe that, with the growing emphasis on AI and other innovations taking over technical and systematic tasks in the work place, the unique elements that only humans can bring to an organization are going to become all the more valuable. A computer can crunch the numbers and organize the data, but knowing and communicating what that information means for the human beings impacted by the work that you and your teams do can only be relayed by someone who can turn lived experience into wisdom and connection. Let the computers do their job while you do yours by being the unique human perspective that gives work meaning.

About Cyndi Freeman and Brad Lawrence

For over two decades, Cyndi Freeman and Brad Lawrence have been at the center of the contemporary storytelling world—onstage, in classrooms, behind the microphone, and working side-by-side with organizations that want to communicate with clarity and heart.

Together, they bring a combined 35+ years of experience as performers, coaches, and producers, helping people become more confident, compelling communicators in work, art, and everyday life. Their shared philosophy is simple: everyone has a story worth telling, and the right support can make that story land with real impact.

Cyndi and Brad teach storytelling, public speaking, and stage presence for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to grassroots nonprofits, NGOs, and community groups. Their collective client list includes ZenDesk, Janssen/Johnson & Johnson, UNICEF USA, The 9/11 Tribute Museum, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, The New York Public Library, and many more across the U.S. and Europe. They’ve also coached hundreds of performers and professionals through The Story Studio, The Irish Arts Center, The Common Thread, The Moth Community Program, and the RISK! Podcast.

Individually, each brings a deep well of creative and teaching expertise.

Cyndi has been awarded grants from SU-CASA and the Brooklyn Arts Fund for storytelling programs in senior centers, where her work has resulted in two documentaries. As a performer, she has appeared internationally at festivals including Edinburgh Fringe, SXSW Interactive, the NY Fringe Festival, and Edmonton Fringe, and on platforms such as RISK!, The Moth, The Story Collider, PBS’s Stories from the Stage, and Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report, as well as HBO and Showtime.

Brad is a seasoned public speaking and presentation coach whose workshops support professionals across sectors—from tech to agriculture to finance. He has produced and performed solo shows and storytelling productions across the U.S. and the UK, including the Edinburgh Fringe, SXSW Interactive, and collaborations with WBUR, USA Network, Casper, and Grant’s Whiskey. His stories have been featured on Dan Savage’s Hot Mic, The Moth Podcast and MainStage, Story Collider, and more. His writing has appeared in McSweeney’s.

As a team, Cyndi and Brad are known for their generous, grounded, and practical approach. Whether they’re helping a CEO prepare a keynote, guiding a nonprofit team through message-building, coaching a performer for the stage, or preserving a family’s legacy stories, they create a space where people feel confident, connected, and heard.

They also conduct oral histories for families and organizations through their other company, The Common Thread.
